Bride Wars

Bride Wars

by Ambere Riggs

Best friends Liv and Emma battle it out when their weddings are scheduled for the same day and same time. Each one wants the other to move their wedding, but neither will give in, leading to the war. Will this battle destroy their friendship, or will it bring them closer together? BRIDE WARS shows the great chemistry between best friends in a story full of laughs that proves what really matters in life.

Liv and Emma are great friends who let petty things get in the way of their friendship. The characters go from being best friends to worst enemies. The transformation is brilliant. One day they are best friends planning their weddings together and, once they find out they are scheduled for the same time, a switch is flipped, and they are completely different people. It is, however, more complex than that. Both of them want the other to move their wedding and get back to being best friends, but neither of them wants to lose. It creates conflict not only between them, but with themselves creating more complex characters.

This war also creates conflict with each of their fiancés. Their fiancés are friends with each other and are torn between their friendship and supporting the women they love. The women put pressure on them to help them win the war, but eventually they decide it’s stupid since their friendship is what matters the most.

Throughout BRIDE WARS, the women put their wedding over their friendship. Their whole lives they have dreamed of being each other's maid of honor, but, because they don’t want to move their wedding to another day, they lose sight of what really matters: their friendship. The viewer will eventually discover if they let their marriages ruin their friendship forever or if this experience will, in fact, strengthen their friendship.

The final thing that drives this chick flick home is the humor. The viewer laughs at the petty things Liv and Emma do to each other in order to accomplish their goals. No one can keep a straight face when Liv has blue hair or when Emma is as orange as, well, an orange. There are many other events that keep the laughs rolling.

Pop BRIDE WARS in for a cute chick flick that takes the viewer on the emotional roller coaster of two best friends fighting over a date for their wedding and the hilarious tricks they pull on each other.
